Life IS a Grand Production...Happy Day

Thursday, April 29, 2010

Well it is 5 Thursday...the Fifth day of the week...
and I love 5's... the main reason is I have 5 grand babies...

This is a vintage sign 5 along with a couple of others.
The small platter has sign letters with Ron and my initials...
I got the water dispenser from Laurie Anna's too...boy, I sure buy a lot from my fave place...
this is a 5 tin that I got at Canton and the pic is of  The 4 B's...my bff's ...
Donna Sue...Neta Sue...Brenda Sue...and Barbara Jean...
I know there are only 4 of us...oh well...

As I was looking for 5's in my house, I was putting up the dishes and found my favorite cornbread skillet has a number 5 on it...Only Jiffy sweet...ever once in a while I have to have good Old regular cornbread...my husband always wants to know if my Dad is coming for dinner because he won't eat sweet cornbread.  When I cook cornbread- either one- I use a little bacon grease, get the skillet hot, pour it in, and wait till it is golden brown.  Oh my!!! When we were kids our snack at night was left over cornbread and milk.  Our kids and grand kids wouldn't know what to do if they couldn't get it out of a bag or a box.
You know the initial glass balls..well they make number ones...and of course there was a 5!!!
This is a pic of my Mom & Dad...God has truly blessed me with a wonderful set of Parents and family...
This was in the city walk at Universal Theaters...

And of course here are the 5 reasons I love the #5...

Well I hope you enjoyed 5 Thursday...I will not be posting until Wed. so Surprise Friday will have to be next week...have a wonderful weekend and enjoy your Family ...
Smiles too all...B

Wine Wednesday...

Good morning... I guess I got the glitches out...I will have to do Turq. Thursday next week...I am off ...again...My Aunt Cookey (Phyllis) is retiring and having a party on Friday, in my home town...Holdenville.  Then of course it IS the weekend...the lake is calling and of course it is First Monday...Canton!!!!  I will probably not get to go to Canton until Sunday.
Can't wait to see what new treasures Laurie Anna's and the Junk Ladies have to entice me...

Well onto Wine Wednesday.  I wanted to do this because of the ideas I have for wine stoppers and corks.  The sugar bowl is 1 of my finds while junking and it held my wine stoppers so perfectly. I love stoppers.  I have several crowns...go figure...my Daughter in Law, Kristi,  gave me a huge turq. jewel  she got on her girl trip they took to Girls Gone Wine.  I have it at the Lake Estate...I have several W's, which I love too.

These are one of my most wonderful of Treasures...our kids got these for us on our 30th Anniversary.  Aren't they beautiful???This is my favorite wine...Barefoot White Zinfandel.  I bought the first bottle because it was cute and very lakey...and it has become our favorite.  We had a glass this week with our Buddy Steaks.  If you are ever around Lake Texoma and want the best steak ever...go to the Texoma Meat Market out of Kingston, in the Soldier Creek area. Tell Mike or Jan you need a filet and Buddy rub.  And go home and cook the best filet you have ever had.  Be sure to rub down your steak with lime juice and then Buddy Rub.

This is another fun idea.  We save some of our wine corks...when there is a special occasion we write the date and who was there on the cork.  I have dumped them out and looked at the occasions and friends that have shared them with us.  We had a dear friend pass away with cancer and we had gone to Valentines dinner with him and his wife and there was a cork from that special evening...Anton Yanda was truly a wonderful man.
Well I hope you enjoyed the ideas... and that you have a Wonderful Wednesday.
 I will see you tomorrow for 5 Thursday...Love, B

Turquoise Tuesday

Well Welcome to TTday and computer glitches... I really had some great Turq. pics...but I am having issues finding my pics...   oh well we will have to have another TTday....the first pic is from a wonderful wreath I got in Canton from this wonderful place we love to shop, Laurie Anna's.  I believe someone makes them for her.  The knife and fork plaque are from a garage sale I ran upon.  I just love the vintage look and of course the color.  Well if I get the glitch OUT I will post again this evening.  Remember tomorrow is Wine Wednesday...baring no comp glitch...Happy TTday...B

Monday is Bee Day

Hello fellow blogg-ies... I have decided to have a little fun this week and do something everyday with a different theme...Monday is Bee Day...Tuesday will be  Turquiouse Day...Wednesday is Wine  Day...Thursday, being the 5th day of the week, will be 5 Day...and Friday will be  Surprise Day...
So Today is BEE Day...
This is my foot stool I just got recovered in ...you guessed it... Bee velvet.  This is a Bee M&M holder from my Granddaughters- Eryn & Avery...

I found this metal bucket at TJ Maxx and of course it had a Bee on it so I had to have IT...

These are a few special Bee boxes.

The tea pot lamp has a wonderful Bee lampshade and of course my Glitter Bee and another Bee pitcher.  This turq. Bee is an old door knob that they made into a wine stopper, oh no this could be on 3 of my days, how nice to be expandable... This was a gift from my bff Donna...

This is a wonderful Bee plate and pitcher I also got at TJ Maxx. And there is a fun crown plate behind the yellow plate from one of my bff's, Neta.  Oh No, the Queen Bee. Last but not least, these are some wonderful door pulls I found and had to have.  Aren't they the cutest???
I asked my husband, Ron, if he minded that there was a Bee in every room of our house...yes, there really is, and he said no... I don't know if he meant it, but oh well...
I hope you have a blessed and Buzzingly Beautiful day...Brenda

Yukon's Teacher of the Year Banquet

Beatrice...
Well I have been at it again... that is the Grand Production... our school system had a
 Teacher of the Year Banquet...
and I volunteered to decorate for it.  I really had a lot of fun doing it.
The theme was ...Masquerade Ball.
I made mask and memory boxes for 11 teachers.
I used 3 different paper doll stamps and made the mask to match.
The mask could have been more elaborate...but I had a tight budget.
I thought it really turned out well.
So here are some pics of the 3 different boxes and some of the other tables.

My Granddaughters go to Parkland Elementary and one of their Teachers won Teacher or the Year for that school.  This is Heather and her husband.  They were so cute and played the part so well.  The next picture is of Heather and one of the other Teachers, Russ.  He teaches at Ranchwood.  He is quite a character, he played the part so well.  His Principal is Mrs. Kilpatrick.
This is Heather, her Mom and her Principal, Lance.
Lance was my son Brad's 5th grade teacher.  So we go way back.
Well I am off to Florida with the Fam... I will return with a lot of pics and tales.
Till then...B

Hoppy Easter

Hope you had a Hoppy Easter.        We did...
A lot of my extended family came and had enough food for an Army.  Well I thought I would be cute and make Jackie's fun Rice Krispie treats... WELL....needless to say...  I can make the best Pineapple pie, Key Lime pie, Apple Pie, etc... BUT I can't make Rice Krispie treats.  My elbow was really hurting so Ronny helped me ... as you can see we made a HUGE mess and they were not the picture of  Cuteness Jackie's were...

I really do make a BIG mess any time I cook...

They really were cute??? From a distance.  My Dad ask if they were to eat or look at??? Well He was on his own...

Well if nothing else... they made for adorable table decorations...

I hope each of you had a wonderful day and were able to take time to know the true meaning of the Day.
I don't always take the time to reflect on the important things in life but as my Dad prayed for our meal he reminded us all of the importance of the day and the true sacrifice that was made for each of us.
